Configure your invoicing company details

Before sending your first invoice, take a couple of minutes to complete your invoicing company details in Books → Settings. These details will appear automatically on all your invoices, so you only need to set them up once.

Details you need to complete

  • Company name: your trading name or legal entity name as it should appear on invoices
  • NIF / VAT Number: your tax identifier (Company Number UK, EIN Delaware, CIF, etc.)
  • Address: your company’s complete registered address
  • Logo: upload your logo in PNG or JPG format; it will appear in the header of each invoice and gives a professional appearance
  • IBAN: your bank account number, required if you offer bank transfer payments
  • Payment terms: the default payment deadline (for example, 30 days from issue)
  • Currency: the default currency for your invoices (EUR, GBP or USD)

Why this matters

An invoice without correct tax details may not be legally valid and could cause problems with your client or tax authorities. Setting up these details correctly from the start ensures all your invoices are accurate and professional.

💡 Tip: if you work with clients in different countries, set the currency you use most as the default. You can always change it on individual invoices when needed.
