If you invoice the same services or products repeatedly, the Books → Products catalogue saves you from typing the same information each time. You save each item once and reuse it in any invoice.
What each product stores
- Name / description: the item as you want it to appear on the invoice
- Unit price: the default price (you can adjust it on each invoice)
- VAT type: the tax percentage applied
- Category: to organize your catalogue
How to create a product
- Go to Books → Products
- Click New product
- Fill in name, price, VAT and category
- Save
How to use it on an invoice
When adding a line to an invoice, instead of typing the description manually, select the product from your catalogue. The price and VAT fill in automatically. You can still adjust the quantity or price on that specific invoice without changing the saved product.
💡 Practical example: if you’re a consultant and invoice ‘Consulting hour — £60’ constantly, save it as a product. From then on, each invoice is just selecting the product and entering the number of hours.
