How to manage your customer database

The Books → Customers section is your customer database. Storing your customers properly saves you time on every invoice and lets you see at a glance how much each one is billing.

What data is stored for each customer

  • Name or business name: the name that will appear on invoices
  • Email: invoices and payment links are sent to this address
  • NIF, CIF or VAT Number: customer’s tax identifier, mandatory on many invoices
  • Full address: street, city, postal code and country

How to add a new customer

You have two ways:

  1. From the Customers section: go to Books → Customers → New customer, fill in the details and save.
  2. When creating an invoice: if the customer doesn’t exist yet, you can create them directly from the invoice form without interrupting the process.

Edit or update a customer

Click on any customer in the list to view their profile. From there you can edit their details. Changes apply to new invoices; invoices already issued retain the data they had at the time of issue.

Billing history per customer

In each customer’s profile you can view all the invoices you’ve issued to them and their status. It’s useful for knowing who owes you money or how much a customer has billed you in the year.

💡 Tip: keep your customer emails up to date. This is the address where invoices and card payment links arrive — an incorrect email means the customer won’t receive the invoice.
