The Books → Reports section transforms all your invoicing and expense data into a clear, useful view of how your business is performing. You don’t need accounting knowledge to understand them.
The overview dashboard
When you enter Reports, you’ll see at a glance:
- Revenue: the total invoiced and received during the period
- Expenses: the total expenses recorded
- Profit: revenue minus expenses — what you actually earn
- Tax summary: VAT charged and VAT paid
- Invoices by status: how many you have paid, pending, or overdue
- Top clients: who invoices you the most
- Top products invoiced: which services generate the most revenue
- Monthly trend chart: how your revenue and expenses change month to month
Changing the period
Use the selector at the top to view data by month, quarter, year, or complete history. It’s useful for comparing how this month compares to the previous one, or for seeing your full year-end closure.
The custom report builder
Press the Custom report button to open the builder, where you can:
- Choose a specific date range (for example, from 1 January to 31 March)
- Filter by report type
- Filter by a specific client
- Filter by invoice status
The result displays instantly and you can export it.
Exporting reports
From the Reports section you can export the report you’re viewing to save it or share it with your accountant or tax adviser. It’s the quickest way to give your accountant all the information they need.
