Every Delaware LLC is required by law to have a Registered Agent with a physical address in the state of Delaware. With Aiden, this service is included in your plan, so you don’t need to arrange it separately.
What is a Registered Agent?
It’s a person or company with a physical address in Delaware, officially designated to receive legal and official documents on behalf of your LLC: state notices, court documents, Franchise Tax reminders, and so on.
Why is it mandatory?
- The state of Delaware requires a physical address in the state (a P.O. box won’t work)
- It ensures there’s always a reliable point of contact for legal notices
- Without a valid Registered Agent, your LLC can lose its «Active» status and become «Void»
What does Aiden do as your Registered Agent?
- Provides the required physical address in Delaware
- Receives all official correspondence for your LLC
- Digitises it and uploads it to your Documents section
- Notifies you when something arrives that requires your attention
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
If you decide to leave Aiden, it is essential that you designate a new Registered Agent in Delaware before you go. An LLC without a registered agent falls into irregular status and can be penalised or dissolved by the state.
💡 Important: never leave your LLC without a Registered Agent. If you’re going to switch providers, make sure the new agent is active before cancelling the previous one to avoid losing continuity.
